This loft conversion completed in Barnet EN5 by LCCL construction Ltd is another example of our complete design and build services.
The client opted to have us take care of every aspect of the design and build of this loft conversion from start to finish.
The project was within the homeowners permitted development rights so we completed a site measured survey, produced architectural designs and obtained a certificate of lawful development. Most lofts are within the permitted development and to obtain the go ahead from the council takes a short while the actual application is little bit simpler but it is always good to have a lawful development certificate. We then completed structural drawings, building control notices and party wall agreements. Everything the client needed to get to the build stages was put in place by our in house team.
The client's aim for the design of the loft conversion was extra bedroom space for a growing family. Loft conversions were traditionally used to create a bedroom for the oldest child to have their own space however owing to the loft bedroom usually becoming the biggest bedroom in the house and having its own en-suite bathroom there has been a shift in trends in the last few years and we are now more frequently building lofts for the purpose of creating a grown up master suite.
In order to protect our client's home during the build stages of the loft conversion project LCCL's preferred method is building a temporary roof out of scaffolding "called a tin roof" to protect the internal spaces from rain and wind, to allow continuous work on site whilst taking the rear roof off and supporting the front roof to accommodate the loft conversion.
The loft conversion itself consists of a large room as can be seen on the pictures and a large shower room. Shower rooms are typically the preferred option for loft en-suite bathrooms, although it is possible to have a bath installed if preferred.
To finish off the project we added a 10 year structural guarantee and a 12 months workmanship guarantee for assurance.

The Loft Conversion has a large double room as seen on the photo above and en-suite to accommodate a shower room. This loft conversion comes with built in wardrobes and plenty of storage underneath the 2 Velux windows. The spot lights are low profile LED lights on dim-able switches and there are few double sockets. All the doors are fire rated FD30 and the smoke alarms have been installed on all the floors. We matched the stairs as closely as possible to the existing staircase.
